Common Name: Mexican Sunflower

Description:

Tithonia diversifolia, commonly known as Mexican Sunflower is a large, perennial shrub in southern California climates, up to 12′ tall, and as wide, on mature plants. This is a big plant when it’s full grown! So plant it in areas where there’s plenty of room. The reward? Spring, summer, fall, and even winter explosions of bright, cheerful, sunflower-like blossoms that just don’t stop! Frost can damage plants in winter, but is mostly temporary and cosmetic, for a brief time. Established plants grow right back. Usually likes regular watering, but established plants can be pretty tough for periods of dryness.
