Brugmansia Suaveolens Angel's Trumpet
 
Angel's trumpet is a small tree in the nightshade family. The sister to Datura or Devil's trumpet, Angel's trumpet blossoms huge white flowers that cascade downward in reminisce of angel's musical horns pointed towards the earth singing. This order is for a cutting or rooted plant depending on your selection. Cuttings root moderately easily and are recommended for anyone beyond a beginner in rooting plants. 
 
Angel's trumpet has a history of use in South America as a hallucinogen. The giant trumpet-shaped flowers give way to belief that they can amplify the voices of those on the other side. A tincture derived from angel's trumpet was given to children with behavioral problems, hoping the ancestors would be able to right their behaviors. Brugmansia has some medicinal uses, which allegedly aid in reducing pain and inflammation. The entire plant is currently classified as toxic and is not recommended for ingestion in any form. 
 
In ‘An Encyclopedia of Shamanism’, Christina Pratt, writes that “Brugmansia [Angel’s Trumpet] induces a powerful, violent trance with several most unpleasant effects, sickening after effects, and at times temporary insanity”. The hallucinations caused by Angel’s Trumpet cause total loss of awareness, disconnection from reality, and amnesia.
