Lobophyllia corymbosa (Forskål, 1775)

Description: Colonies are small, flat or dome-shaped. Corallites are phaceloid and usually monocentric, but may have up to three centres. Corallites average 16 millimetres diameter. Septal teeth are few in number but are long and conspicuous. Columellae are circular or oval and are well developed.
Color: Mottled orange, green or white, usually with pale mouths.
Habitat: Upper reef slopes and lagoons.
Abundance: Uncommon.
Similar Species: Lobophyllia dentatus, which has closely compacted corallites.

Husbandry know-how of owners

Es handelt sich um eine sehr empfehlenswerte und wunderschöne Art, die unter Blaulicht sehr gut zur Geltung kommt.

Licht: Eher weniger, als ich sie zu hoch unter eine LED-Lampe setzte, wurde sie teilweise verbrannt, Teile der Polypen bleichten aus, als ich sie tiefer setzte, erholte sich die Koralle.

Strömung: Wie viele großpolypige Korallen eher vorsichtig!

Futter: Die Art kann sehr gut zugefüttert werden. Bewährt hat sich bei mir bei den meisten LPS "Fauna Marin Ultra-LPS". Wenn L. corymbosa 3-4 Tage gefüttert wird, steht sie deutlich besser da.

Vermehrung: Bei mir sind zwar die einzelnen Polypen deutlich gewachsen, sie haben sich bisher leider aber noch nicht vermehrt.

eine seltene und wunderschöne tiefwasserart. es existieren farbmorphen, die high-end-acanthastreas im nichts nachstehen.

licht: wenig bis mittel
strömung: wenig bis mittel
füttern: nur bei wenig licht. nimmt nur kleine sorten und frisst recht langsam.

scheint nicht sehr stark zu nesseln und bildet nur kurze tentakeln aus. wächst langsam.
