Info

Labroides rubrolabiatus Randall, 1958

Inhabits lagoonal and seaward reefs to a depth of at least 32 m. Feeds on small parasites and damaged tissue of other fish.

Once settled in, it's an easy-to-care-for pet that's beautiful. A real enrichment for the aquarium in terms of colors. However, this cleaner fish is absolutely pushy when it comes to its cleaning services. He is restless and restless all day long. You should only get such an animal if you have a large tank in which there are lots of fish willing to clean. Otherwise, the Australian cleaner can be a real pain in the ass.

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
