Info

For the blenny Blenniella interrupta there are very large differences to the water depth, which on the one hand possibly refer to an outdated literature and on the other hand (-39 meters depth) are due to more recent observations from 2019:

FishBase: 0 - 2 meters (as of August 2020).
Checklist of the marine and estuarine fishes of New Ireland Province, Papua New Guinea, western Pacific Ocean, with 810 new records: - 39 meters

Blenniella interrupta lives reef-bound and inhabits nearshore rocky areas, including tide pools, where it likes to stay in hiding.

Once out of hiding, brown, often interrupted longitudinal stripes are visible on the body and tail.

Synonyms:

Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

A small night light also helps, as it provides the fish with a means of orientation in the dark!
