Petrolisthes edwardsii (de Saussure, 1853)

In a study (Redescription of Petrolisthes edwardsii (de Saussure) and description of a new, sibling species from the eastern Pacific based on different color, morphology and genetic identity (Crustacea: Anomura: Porcellanidae) the following dimensions were recorded, which can give a good overview of the size of Petrolisthes edwardsii:

Dimensions (carapace length x width) largest male 17.3 × 18.8 mm, largest female 11.2 × 11.2 mm.

Petrolisthes edwardsii is often found rocky in intertidal areas, especially on shell and coral remains, and in subtidal areas to 40 meters water depth.
