Pycnochromis bami (formerly Chromis bami) has a drab dark brown body color, the interesting factor is the distinct white caudal fin of the damselfish....
Pycnochromis bami is found in French Polynesia including Rapa and Mururoa Atoll, Tonga, Cook Islands, Pitcairn Islands and Austral Islands (Tubua Islands and Bass Islands) in shallow lagoon reefs in a depth zone between 12 to 45 meters.
The menu of the small perch is composed of algae and various crustaceans.
