Scientific Name - Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis

Common Name - Black Surgeonfish (Chevron Tang)

Size - 11" (28 cm)

Min. Aquarium Size - 100 US Gal. (379)

Foods and Feeding - Varied diet with mostly vegetable fare, dried and frozen herbivores foods, marine algae, Spirulina, pieces of zucchini, broccoli, leaf lettuce, sushi Nori (dried seaweed no additives) Feed 3 times a day.

Reef Compatibility - Rarely bothers sessile invertebrates such as other Suregeonfish and Tangs, is prone to ich.

Captive Care - Not overly aggressive , will normally coexist with tank mates peacefully, has aggressive tendencies towards members of its own kind and close relatives. Keep only one per tank, likely to be picked on by other Surgeonfishes, in a system without sufficient micro algae vegetable matter must be provided daily.
