The Betel Nut Palm is widely cultivated in Southeast Asia for its seeds, which contain a mild stimulant. They are fast and easy to sprout, and plants are very fast growing and best suited to warm subtropical and tropical regions. They have a full crown of shiny green fronds, a slender crownshaft, and a smooth, gray trunk.
