Banded Pearl

Sameodes sp. nr. cancellalis

Description:

This moth is very similar to Sameodes cancellalis shown in Philippine Lepidoptera, but there are some very small differences, especially the shape of the two largest spots on the forewings. It may be that these tiny differences are due to sexual dimorphism, but I think that the safest course is to call it Sameodes sp. nr. cancellalis.

Habitat:

The moth flew into the terrace from our backyard, in the evening. It landed on the wall and stayed there just long enough for me to get one photo.
