Bean Leafroller Moth

Omiodes diemenalis

Description:

Orange-yellow moth. about 1.5cm wingspan. This is an Omiodes diemenalis (Guenée, 1854), called the Bean Leafroller or Legume Webspinner, of family Crambidae, subfamily Spilomelinae, tribe Spilomelini.. The adult Bean Leafroller moth is brown with yellow patches. It makes a shelter from a rolled up leaf, hence the common name. This Bean Leafroller is a pest of various types of Bean (Fabaceaa family). Plants attacked include Soybeans, Garden Beans, Mung Beans. (OzAnimals.com)

Backyard, spotted inside the garage.
