I just picked up this beauty for 35 dollars, hoping that it is the red form of Latania Lontaroides.

I read that there are 3 variants: red, blue and yellow, though there does not seem to be a unique name for each of them??

There are 3 species of Latania, lontaroides is the red variety,  loddigesii is the blue and the verschaffeltii is the yellow. Yours is lontaroides and it is nice!

Lived in Cape Coral, Miami, Orlando and St. Petersburg Florida.

I have seen a few for sale around here, but at triple the costs which I could not justify, so, when I say this one at a reasonable price I grabbed it before they could change their minds.
