Description and Ethnobotany

Growth Form A vase-shaped herbaceous shrub.
Foliage Leaves are green colored, arranged in a rosette form, forming a tank in the center of the plant which can hold water.
Flowers Flower stalk emerges from the center of the rosette, comprised of small red flowers with purple tips. Bracts are bright red.
Cultivation The plants can be grown as epiphytes on trees. Plants should be planted in well-drained soils. Fill the center cup with water and do not let it dry out. Plants can be propagated by dividing off the young pups.
