PEPPERED SQUIRRELFISH

Very common in crevices of shallow
reefs, tidepools, and harbor breakwaters. Stout silver body with
red stripes and scattered brown dots, and the spiny dorsal fin is
transparent below and white and red above. This is the red fish
seen darting about tidepools at night. Attains 5 inches.
