GIANT PORITES

Common on shallow reefs.  Forms very large domes with blunt lobes, calices nearly flush with surface.  Cream to brown, pink or purple under excessive UV light.  Indo-Pacific & the Tropical Eastern Pacific.  Replaced in Hawaii by the endemic Porites evermanni.
