My career has been very interesting so far, as I began as just a little seed. However, with the help of a lot of water and sunlight, I grew into a small, red shrub. During my career, I have gone through cold winters where I struggled a little bit, but when the summer hits again, I truly bloom and I produce flowers! One day, I will turn into a fully-grown tree!

Update: I've been hired! A wonderful company called Cherisse Carney Inc. has hired me. They chose me because they always saw me on their walk to BIO 211, and they thought I was cool because of my bright red color and how I stood out against the rosemary! Thanks everyone for joining me in my application process!

Here are some fun facts about me: * My sap can cause irritation to the skin and damage to organs if ingested. Yikes! * However, in South America, my sap has been used as a medicine * My name originates from cotinus means "smoketree" and folia means "leaf."

In my current home, Poly Canyon Village, I live right next to Rosemary! We are very close to one another, and she attracts a lot of bees. However, our roots stay separate from one another!

I am a part of the Euphorbiaceae, or Spurge family. My family members are also from Mexico and South America like me, and they like the sunny weather too. Some of my family members you may know are Rubber Trees and Poinsettias!

I think it is always important to be open with potential employers, so I just want to be clear that I hope to be a parent one day! When I produce flowers in the spring and summer time, my flowers include both stamen and carpal parts so I can hopefully one day reproduce! However, my flowers do not have large petals or sepals and I don't have a strong oder, so attracting bees and other pollinators is not very common for me. I am most commonly pollinated by the wind!

Here are a few reasons you should hire me for the position: * I have various vegetative features: I have a taproot system, red stems, and red/purple leaves * As for my plant habit, I can grow up to be 15 to 30 feet tall! * I am also very adaptable, for example, I have a taproot system as a way to absorb more water from the soil * Also, I adapted to secrete a milky, poisonous sap when cut open as a way to repel predators!
