Smeringopus pallidus

Smeringopus pallidus is a cellar spider in the Smeringopus genus. Appearance: Roundish, truncate behind, extending downward in front of eyes. Two vertical brown lines below eyes in front, brown median band from eyes to rear margin, brown lateral margins. ABDOMEN: Elongate, twice or more as long as wide, with median rows of paired brown spots forming incomplete chevrons, and lateral row of about four brown arcs on each side. LEGS: Extremely long and slender, four or more times body length. EYES: Eight in two lateral groups of three, between and in front of which are two small eyes. WEB: A tangled cobweb or delicate sheet.
