Silvertip Sharks - Carcharhinus albimarginatus This one was a small sized Silvertip Shark - Carcharhinus albimarginatus, around 1 - 1.5 meters. There were a few of them and were very sneaky. If I am looking at one of them in front of me, there is always 1 or 2 sneaking up behind me. But it was fun diving with them coming at me from time to time :D Carcharhinus albimarginatus,Fish,Maldives,Shark,Silvertip Shark Click/tap to enlarge PromotedCountry intro

The silvertip shark is a large species of requiem shark, in the family Carcharhinidae, with a fragmented distribution throughout the tropical Indian and Pacific Oceans. This species is often encountered around offshore islands and coral reefs, and has been known to dive to a depth of 800 m. The silvertip shark resembles a smaller yet bulkier grey reef shark, and can be easily identified by the prominent white margins on its fins. It attains a maximum length of 3 m.
