Junonia villida

The Meadow Argus is a lovely little butterfly found in all areas of Australia. A fast flyer, settling frequently to rest and enjoy the sunshine.
The wings are opened and closed frequently to flash the eye-spots - this is thought to frighten potential predators such as birds.
