White-grey-reddish with a dark part behind the eyes that extends down the cheek. It has a short snout, fewer pectoral fin rays than other sp. in the same genus. This one was graciously lying on top of a cup-shaped hard coral.<br />

Poss's scorpionfish, ''Scorpaenopsis possi'', is a scorpionfish from the Indo-Pacific. It occasionally makes its way into the aquarium trade. It grows to 19.4 cm in length. Its species is named for S. G. Poss. This species lives from 1 to 40 m deep on rock and coral sea floors.
