Heliotrope moth (Utetheisa pulchelloides) I suspect the last one of the season. I had never found these before but we have had plagues of them over the last 6 months. Many specimens were also found in Tasmania where they don't breed so must have been blown over Bass Strait by the northerly winds. "Utetheisa pulchelloides", the heliotrope moth, is a moth of the family Erebidae. It is found in the Indo-Australian region including Borneo, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Papua, Seychelles and most of Australia.
