Tridacna derasa -Southern giant clam or smooth giant clam This one was observed in South Rock, Lankayan Island, Borneo.<br />
Is hard to tell the species because I cannot see the clam&#039;s shell. But when I look at mantles it is most likely to be T. derasa, even though people was also suggesting me T. squamosa...difficult clams! This one was observed in South Rock, Lankayan Island, Borneo.
Is hard to tell the species because I cannot see the clam's shell. But when I look at mantles it is most likely to be T. derasa, even though people was also suggesting me T. squamosa...difficult clams!

The southern giant clam, "Tridacna derasa", is a species of extremely large marine clam in the cockle family, Cardiidae.
