Description

This plant has a solitary palm-like stem may grow to 20 m tall, and grows naturally in North Queensland between about Cardwell and the Bloomfield River area. It is distinguished by the pinnate leaves which have pinnae from 15-30 mm wide with more than 15 parallel veins per pinna. There are separate male and female cones. There are specimens growing near Nursing Sciences DB25 in Townsville and near the Refectory in Cairns as well there are some on the nearby hillslopes.
