Description:
The ringlegged earwig is the most common earwig in the state, but it is nowhere plentiful. It can be collected in flourmills and greenhouses, where its habits resemble those of roaches. The body is black, or nearly so, and the legs light with dark spots. The adult measures fully 1/2 inch (12 mm) long and the wings are absent. There are 1 or 2 white segments in the antennae near the tips. This species will eat other insects, including its own species.
