Habitat and range ³

Colpomenia sinuosa is found in the mid intertidal zone on rocks or other algae from Alaska to La Jolla, CA (MAC).

Morphology and identification ³

Colpomenia sinuosa has a globular thallus with sinuous folds. Mature thalli averaging 8 to 10 cm broad and golden to dark brown in color. Colpomenia sinuosa can be confused with Leathesia marina but Leathesia is finer and more slippery.
