Star Apple Fruit/Chrysophyllum Cainito is a tropical tree bearing edible fruits.Star Apples are round and approximately two to four inches in diameter at maturity. Its skin is smooth, leathery and depending on variety either purple to red or yellow to green in color.

Purple Star Apple  has a aromatic and has a tropical sweet flavor with nuances of apple, lychee and persimmon.Fruit comes to Purple colour when ripe. The inner rind of the purple variety is dark purple and the size of the fruit is  bigger than Green star apple.

Star Apple fruit pulp contains a fair amount of Calcium, and Phosphorous and is rich in phytochemicals ALA antioxidants, which help to prevent certain cancers and support a healthy immune system and also it has been used to treat sore throats and reduce the inflammation associated with pneumonia and laryngitis. When ground the seeds can be used as a tonic and diuretic.

Caimito (Chrysophyllum cainito) Caimito fruit is one of the fruits that comes from the sapodilla tribe or Sapotaceae. This fruit, which is round in shape and has a sweet fleshy taste, is often found in traditional markets, but is difficult to find in supermarkets or modern markets. Caimito fruit flesh has a sweet taste so it is suitable as an option to be used as a fruit soup combined with other fruit variants.
