Plant description
The Giant maidenhair fern is a lovely fern with shiny black stems and large diamond shaped leaves. The stems are attractively arched, and the new leaves are pale, maturing to having a silvery green then dark green. It likes a moist soil rich in organic matter. Tidy any dead growth by snipping back close to the soil. Frost tender. Feed with a half strength liquid fertiliser in the warm months. Good for under trees, container growing and hanging baskets. If growing indoors, mist at least once a week.
