Tabernaemontana pandacaqui or the Banana Bush is a native shrub or small tree with tropical, glossy, dark green foliage.
It produces small, fragrant, white flowers in summer that look like helicopter blades.
After flowering, small, bright orange banana like fruits develop, though they are poisonous to humans.
This is an attractive shrub that is native to dry rainforest in QLD and Northern NSW and makes an excellent container plant.
In general cultivation they generally reach no more than 2 metres in height.
