Philodendron mamei 'green' is most likely a variety of Philodendron mamei André . It is a terrestrial Philodendron with a repent stem. Leaf blades are ovate-cordate, sometimes slightly inequilateral, thinly coriaceous to sub coriaceous, very bicolorous, matte to weakly glossy or semi glossy, pale yellow-green to dark green, sometimes faintly to heavily mottled with gray to gray-green blotches throughout between major veins above, moderately to much paler and weakly glossy to semi glossy below.

An easy and prolific grower if given adequate and uniform air humidity.

form the Modern Latin genus name Philodendron (Schott, 1830), form Greek philodendron, neuter of philodendrons "loving trees," form philo- "loving" (see philo-) + dendron "tree" (form PIE *der-drew-, form root *deru- "to be firm, solid, steadfast," also forming words for "wood, tree"). The plant so called because it clings to trees.
