Arizona cypress is a heat-tolerant evergreen tree which can grow up to 40 to 50 feet in height.  It is useful as a tall screen or windbreak, as well as a specimen planting.

soft textured because scales are pressed against the stem

Fruit: cone with 6 to 8 scales; dry and woody when mature

1 to 1.25 inches in diameter
Bark: reddish brown to dark brown on mature trees

very fibrous and shreds on older trees; can become ridged and furrowed
