coarse-textured foliage is green above, gray below
Flower: red, yellow, orange, pink, or purple ray and disk flowers of various forms
Bloom Period: Summer - Fall

Water: high / medium water requirement
Soil: preferes soil that is well-drained, moist, and fertile
Heat Tolerance: medium / low heat tolerance

Additional Notes: doesn't respond well to hot, dry wind; performance is less than stellar in Texas
