Ocean to the West, Southwest, Southeast and East of El Hierro, West, Northwest and North of La Palma, West, Southwest and South of La Gomera, practically all the ocean around Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and archipelago chinijo (Graciosa)

The diet is extremely varied, which allows it to survive in very diverse environments. On the other hand, the superficial temperature of the water does not seem to affect its distribution, reason why the species is able to colonize any mass of water in which the availability of food is sufficient. However, the highest concentrations of the species are found in areas of deep water and high productivity, such as in the fronts of currents, on the continental slope or on the oceanic regions whose orography of the bottom is abrupt.
