Butterflies and Moths of Ed Zorinsky Lake Park, Omaha Nebraska
During the summer and fall of 2020, the year of the great quarantine, I photographed butterflies and moths in the Omaha Area. Most of these butterflies and moths were photographed at the Ed Zorinsky lake park in the city of Omaha Nebraska US. I visited this lake park on a regular basis through the summer and fall of 2020 to document the various insects and particularly Butterflies and Moths in the park. I love butterflies!
Despite the frequency of my visit, there were some butterflies and moths that I encountered only once; some were present through the duration of the summer and fall. In some cases, the quality of the photos were not as good as I would have wanted, they were done in the wild without capturing the butterflies. That not withstanding, I have included some of them in here. A few of the butterflies and moths came from elsewhere in the city. I have taken the opportunity to profile the butterfly flowers.
Perhaps, I will update this collection if I come across new ones this summer/fall. I have used 'pattern recognition' technique in the identification of these butterflies and moths and I have entered a few of these into the data base of Butterflies and Moths of North America.
