Tradescantia spathacea tricolor is a popular ornamental houseplant that belongs to the family Commelinaceae. It is native to Central and South America, particularly to Mexico and Guatemala. It is commonly known by various names such as Moses-in-the-cradle, oyster plant, and boatlily.

The leaves are succulent, lance-shaped, and arranged in a rosette formation.
