Product Description

For a Phyllostachys, this is a smaller specimen and usually only grows to around 20 feet in height though it has been reported to have grown to 45 feet in some warmer locations and is 1 inch in diameter. It’s a good choice as a containerized plant as it is so very cold hardy that being above ground will not be of concern in most places that you will not need to bring it inside. It has attractive green canes with large evergreen foliage. It has the ability to provide a very dense canopy (if this is your desire, otherwise you can thin the canopy) and provides excellent shading. Effective uses are privacy screening, hedging, groves, wind breaks and a display specimen. Hardy from zone 5 and higher and down here in Florida, it readily accepts full sun and high humidity. As stated earlier, the plant is hardy down to -15 degrees. It will die back at -25 degrees and return the next spring with growing very quickly to reestablish in record time. This is truly a bamboo for almost all locations and climates! No shipments to ARIZONA or HAWAII. Your plants are guaranteed to arrive safely and alive. If you have any issue, please advise within 24 hours of receipt along with a picture of the plant in question and we will work through any problem.

The plant looked great when unboxed and for a few weeks.I realized too late that it was infested w/ black aphids. This is not a pest I have encountered in this area (inside or out).It was held indoors in quarantine when the bloom took off.I was planning to buy several more of these in the spring, but now I have to reconsider after this experience.

I ordered 1 plant and it came in great condition, so 2 weeks later I ordered 3 more. All were well packaged, hydrated, and nice and green. I may get more

I bought this item for $49.00 last week. I went to reorder and it is now $65.00. Why? Beautiful healthy bamboo plant arrived well wrapped and well packaged with the roots well wrapped and sealed with plenty of moisture, secured inside the box with tape and twine, 2-3 weeks early, in excellent condition. The 2 1/2 pages of information is valuable and will be kept. Upon opening the box I detected the love and care that went into my new plant, and when I was reading the literature I knew it. Someone really loves and enjoys what he/she is doing. I will deal with them again, and highly recommend them.

The plant was well packed, in very good shape and the root ball very moist when it arrived. I unpacked it and was pleased to find care instructions had been included. I followed the sellers directions, planted the bamboo and made sure to keep it well watered. The plant has been in the ground for several weeks now and there are lots of new leaves emerging so I guess it's happy. I have a heavy deer population that seems to eat anything it can find so I'd recommend surrounding the plant with a protective fence initially.

We ordered one plant. It arrived very nicely packaged and was HUGE. Expect a little browning at first, but know that it won't mess your plant up. We kept it inside in a bucket for a month and watered it regularly while waiting on the ground to thaw. We transplanted outdoor in April. It didn't do anything for a few months. Now, it's late June and we're starting to see new shoots sprouting up around the original plant. We can't wait to see it in a few years when we've got the forest we've been dreaming of. We credit the success of our plant to the helpful directions included in the packaging. We'll use this seller again, for sure.

I'm so excited - these plants came packaged so well. They were in perfect shape.
Planted today and hoping these beautiful plants will be happy and grow quickly to fill in an area of our property that has been decimated by deer. I have the bamboo plants fenced off to give them a chance to be left alone until they get stronger. Believe it or not, I've tried planting bamboo before, but it just failed. So, here's hoping my new little bamboo plants settle in and thrive here in the Poconos!
