The study describes the length-weight relationship, length-length relationship, condition factor and hepato-somatic index of Paragobiodon echinocephalus. Forty samples were collected from Mongla at Bagerhat, Bangladesh. Total length, standard length, body weight and liver weight were measured by standard units. The body weight showed a positively correlation with total length and standard length with the regression equation of BW = 2.05TL-9.35 (r2 = 0. 89) and BW = 2.30SL -8.55 (r2= 0.85) respectively. Total length and standard length were found highly correlated with the regression equation of SL = 1.11TL + 0.48 (r2 = 0.93). A weak positive correlation was observed between body weight and liver weight with the r2 value of 0.15. Hepato-somatic index showed very weak correlation with condition factor (r2= 0.01), indicating that the species is in an endangered condition. Meristic and morphometric characteristics relationships, condition factor and breeding biology of Indian potashi (Neotropius atherinoides) in the Adjacent River of Chalon Beel, Bangladesh2021 •
Neotropius atherinoides locally known as Batasi fish and considered as freshwater small indigenous species (SIS) in Bangladesh. The present study describes the first complete, inclusive description of length-weight relationships (LWRs), length-length relationships (LLRs), condition factors (Fulton's, KF; Relative, KR) and the breeding biology in the adjacent river of Chalon beel, Bangladesh. The total number of fin rays was counted using a magnifying glass and different lengths were measured using digital slide calipers with 0.01 cm precision. Bodyweight (BW) was measured by a digital balance to the nearest 0.01 g accuracy, respectively. From the present study few mean differences are observed in fin formula:

Growth, Condition, Maturity and Mortality of the Dwarf Gourami, Trichogaster lalius (Hamilton, 1822) in a Wetland Ecosystem (Beel Dakatia), Southwestern Bangladesh2018 •
The present study illustrates the first complete and inclusive information of morphometric relationships, including LengthWeight Relationships (LWRs) and Length-Length Relationships (LLRs), using a total of 13 linear dimensions of Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton, 1822) in the Gorai River, southwestern (SW) Bangladesh. Also meristic characters, including various fin-rays of the tank goby, have been studied. In total, 229 specimens of G. giuris were collected occasionally from the Gorai River during March 2016 to February 2017 by a variety of local fishing gears (e.g., cast, gill, and square lift net). Fin rays and scales (including lateral line scale) were counted by a magnifying glass. The present study designates the length-frequency distributions (LFDs), temporal variations of relative growth pattern and relative condition factor (KR) of the Glossogobius giuris, which are evidently lacking in the literature. Sampling was done in the Garai River, southwestern Bangladesh using traditional fishing gears (Doar and Cast net) from March 2016 to February 2017. Total length (TL) was measured by digital slide calipers, while individual body weight (BW) was determined using digital electronic balance. A total of 972 specimens (male = 446, female = 526) ranging from 3.4 to 28.0 cm TL and 0.3 to 212.0 g BW were analyzed in this study. The LFDs showed that the 6.99 – 9.99 cm TL size group was dominant for both sexes, constituted 46% for males and 41% for females of its population, respectively. Does the peak spawning activity of Glossogobius giuris in Lake Mainit occur in the early months of a year2020 •
The white goby (Glossogobius giuris) is a dominant fish, mainly caught by many fishermen living in the lakeshore areas of Lake Mainit, Philippines. However, its landed catch has been recently declining, and the present situation requires management intervention so that the fish supply can be sustainable for future generations. This study aims to determine the monthly reproductive performance of G. giuris in Lake Mainit. Fish samples were collected monthly from landed catch and each sample was measured to determine the total length (cm), and weighed to determine body weight (g). The gonads of each female were removed and weighed. The gonad maturation degree and egg count were determined.

Fecundity and gonadosomatic index of Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton, 1822) from the Payra River, Patuakhali, Bangladesh2014 •
Glossogobius giuris were collected during March to September 2013 from the Payra river to estimate the length-weight relationship with relative condition factor (Kn), fecundity, gonadosomatic index (GSI) and relation between fecundity and other parameters. The length-weight relationship was found to be Log W= 2.667 Log TL – 1.805 in male and Log W = 2.931 Log TL – 2.040 in female. The mean Kn were found to be 1.02±0.155 for male and 0.97±0.276 for female which indicates satisfactory condition of the fish population. The mean relative fecundity was ranged from 88495 to 264104 with a mean value of 171581±17855, having a average total length of 21.21±0.44 cm, body weight 70.22±4.62 g and gonad weight 2.74±0.31 g. The relationships among the fecundity, the total length, body weight, gonad weight were found to be linear and positively correlated. The present study describes population structure (length-frequency distribution-LFD) and biometric relationships including length-weight relationship (LWR), length-length relationship (LLR), Fulton’s condition factor (K), relative weight (Wr) and form factor (a3.0) of Puntius sophore wild populations from three major rivers of different geographical locations of Bangladesh. A total of 784 specimens were caught by traditional fishing gear from March 2010 to February 2011. For each individual, the total length (TL), fork length (FL) and standard length (SL) were measured by digital slide calipers. Individual body weight (BW) was also taken by a digital balance. The results showed significant differences in TL-frequency distributions among populations (p<0.05), with larger mean TL size (6.92 ± 1.21 cm) was recorded from the Rupsha River. The coefficient b of the LWR was close to the isometric value (b≈3.000) in these rivers of Bangladesh, although it suggested negative allometric growth in the Padma River (b≈2.900). The results also indicated that the LWRs were highly correlated (r2>0.921). Fulton’s condition factor (K) showed significant variations (p<0.001) among the populations, with best performance by the Padma River, followed by the Jamuna and Rupsha River; whereas, relative weight (Wr) was close to 100 for all the populations, indicating the balance habitat with food availability relative to the presence of predators. The estimated values of a3.0 were as 0.0158, 0.0142 and 0.0152 for P. sophore in the Jamuna, Padma and Rupsha River. These results will be useful for fishery biologists and conservationists to suggest adequate regulations for sustainable fishery management and conservation its numerous stocks in the region.

The current study presents the first complete and comprehensive description of population structure, growth pattern (length-weight relationships, LWRs; length-length relationships, LLRs), maturity (size at first sexual maturity; Lm), form factor (a3.0) and natural mortality (MW) of Amblypharyngodon mola (Hamilton, 1822) in the Ganges River, northwestern Bangladesh. Additionally, asymptotic weight (Wα), a3.0, Lm and MW of this fish species from different water bodies worldwide were calculated.
