The Meadow Argus is a common butterfly over much of Australia. Common in suburbia as it can use various widespread introduced waste and grassland weeds as food-plants. A tough insect and a few can be seen out and about on warm winter days in places such as Canberra which gets regular heavy night-time frosts. Often seen feeding alongside its relatives the Yellow Admiral and Australian Painted Lady
