Botanical Name: Pometia Pinnata.

Origin: The tree originates from Papua and is often associated with regions in the South Pacific.

Fruit Characteristics: The fruit is similar to lychee and longan, with edible flesh. When ripe, the skin of the fruit turns purple. The fruit has a unique flavor, combining elements of lychee and longan, with a hint of durian.

Planting and Care

Lowland humid tropics, mean annual temperature ranges between 22 - 28°c, prefers a deep, rich, moist soil and a position in full sun or light shade, variety of soils in its native range:- on limestone, clayey, sandy or loamy soils, mostly in dryland forest, occasionally in freshwater swamps.
