Origin: Native to Southeast Asia. Mangosteen fruit has a thick, hard, deep red rind. Inside, it contains snow-white fleshy pulp. The fruits are typically the size of a small orange and are round or flattened on the ends.

Culinary Uses: Mangosteen is highly valued for its juicy, delicate texture and slightly astringent flavor. It is commonly eaten fresh, canned, or dried.
