Dicksonia Squarrosa is a prehistoric tree fern; forms leaves on a stem, reaching up to 10 meters high in its natural habitat; native to Australia and New Zealand, it belongs to the oldest plants in the world; best cultivated in partial to full shade in moist soil; grown 100% organically from a small plant in the conservatory; from the private botanical collection; grows very well and naturally, potted in a well-drained, self-mixed organic substrate; repotting into a larger pot upon receipt would be desirable (to allow the plant to fully develop), not over-fertilised, therefore robust and healthy (100% organic quality over quantity!), no heavily fertilised greenhouse culture!; not hardy, with time it becomes quite vigorous and stem-forming, from spring to late autumn (without frost days) the plant enjoys being outside to breathe fresh air and rain; otherwise, showering the leaves (with rainwater) once a week does the plant a lot of good; enjoy your new Dicksonia Squarrosa!
