Tree to 10m with a dense canopy.  The foliage has a weeping habit.  Masses of cream flowers attract birds, bees and other pollinators.  Occurs in open Eucalypt forest, often with Brigalow.

Acacia salicina

Sally Wattle

Fast growing tree to 12m with a weeping habit.  The foliage is blue/green and cream coloured flower heads form in summer/autumn.  The seed pods crack open to reveal shiny black seeds covered in a bright orange aril.  The tree is hardy and long lived and is a food source for numerous birds, insects, and other animals.  Tolerates a range of soil types and moderate frost.

Stringybark She-oak

Excellent windbreak/shelterbelt tree to 10m with an unusual woolly trunk.  The woody cones are a food source for the endangered Glossy Black Cockatoo.  Drought and frost tolerant. Well drained soils.

Arytera foveolata

Pitted Coogera

Small slow growing shade tree to around 8m, occurring naturally in rainforest areas. The new growth is a rich burgundy colour. The orange fruit has black seeds surrounded by a bright red fleshy aril, which is consumed by birds.

Brush Whitewood

Slow growing rainforest tree to 20m.  Masses of white flowers in spring followed by clusters of winged seeds.  Very hardy in dry conditions.  Grows in full sun but can also be used as an understorey tree.  Plant in a well drained site.  Attracts pollinators and other insects.

Auranticarpa rhombifolia

Diamond-leaved Pittosporum

A very attractive tree to 20m in gullies and low lying areas.  Clusters of white flowers are a nectar source for pollinators.  Bright orange fruits remain on the tree for months, eventually splitting open to reveal shiny black seeds. A lovely specimen/feature tree in a park or garden.
