Psophocarpus tetragonolobus

A tropical legume perennial bean plant that can grow for years and provide high protein winged beans. A vigorous climbing vine that will continue to weigh down as vines thicken and bunch up over the years, so use solid trellis or netting. Can also be grown as an annual and requires little to no care and feeding. A great bean plant to add to your garden.

Bean pod grows 5″ to 8″ inches in length on high climbing vines with trifoliate leaves. Plant in full sun using trellis, fertilize every 1 – 2 months and water regularly for healthy growth and good fruit bearing. Tolerates drought and is sensitive to frost.

Great tasting winged bean. Lightly steam, boil or stir fry crispy young tender immature beans; for use with any dish.
