Impatiens repens is a very uncommon species of impatiens thought to be extinct in its native habitat of Sri Lanka. It was just recently rediscovered. A couple of common names for this plant are “Golden Dragon Impatiens” and “Creeping Balsam”. The small oval leaves are dark green with red on the reverse. The trailing stems are red. The flowers are a bright yellow. It usually blooms in spring, summer, and fall. It will make a lovely hanging basket.

Care of Impatiens repens:
Shade to partial shade, temp. 45 to 95 degrees, 6 to 8 in tall and will trail to 24in., allow getting slightly dry between watering

Family: Balsaminaceae
