Feeding a newborn bird (Agapornis roseicollis)
Well... this wasn't the plan! :) Tried to upload this video in order to be able to link it to a post I wanted to make, and read somewhere that uploads to Dtube could be edited in order not to appear on steemit feed. But since I was obviously wrong, might as well edit this and explain the video a little bit!
A few days ago, made a mini contest here, to see if anyone could guess the bird species. And here it is: its a lovebird, Agapornis roseicollis, only a few days old.
He was showing signs of delayed growth, not being fed enough by his progenitors. In the next photo, here he is with his brother, only a few days older:
In nature, these are the birds that unfortunately don't thrive. Luckily here... we could give a little help! :) Just look at his appetite now!
He's been gaining weight steadily, and showing more and more vigor each day. Here he his a few days after being hand-fed:
He'll turn into a cute green adult lovebird!
By the way... if there is actually a way to place videos on Dtube and not having them appearing on steemit feed, and someone out there a little bit more tech-savy knows how to do it, please let me know! :)
