Heniochus chrysostomus

These fish are quite peaceful to most other fish, but might haress similar looking fish. Juveniles are often found solitary, where adults usually occur in pairs in lagoons or seaward reefs. In an aquarium they can best be kept alone unless a proven pair can be found. They're omnivores but although no obligate corallivore, they do have a strong tendency towards eating coral polyps. This makes them a risk in a reef tank, so either keep them in a fish-only tank or accept the damage they can do to corals. Feed them a varied diet of live and frozen meaty foods to reduce coral eating and make these fish thrive!
