Rare citrus relative, cold tolerant tropical fruit!

Wampee is an exotic looking and tasting fruit to add to your zone 9 and above garden. Reaching about 20ft tall and cold hardy to the mid 20s briefly, fairly quick growing and having exotic looking foliage and a small, scurfy yellow to tan fruit that grows in clusters and resembles a longan. Much appreciated in its native range of southern China and northern Vietnam, this complex flavored fruit reminds us of a longan or lychee with pink grapefruit flavored flesh- sweet, tangy and mildly bitter this fruit lends itself to fresh eating, making into jellies and jams, liqueur, and fermented drinks. Can be grown in full sun or part shade. 

Seedling is in a growbag and is about 8-12 inches tall.
