Description:
There are 27–32 total gill rakers on the 1st gill arch. 15–17 rays in the pectoral fin and 34–36 lateral line scales. The coloration consists of a brassy to silvery grey head and body, dorsally ranging from grey to red-brown. Two narrow yellow lateral stripes are present—the upper one extending from behind the head to the caudal fin base and the lower one from the pectoral fin base to the caudal fin base. These stripes connect to oblique bars at the caudal fin and the tip of the 1st dorsal fin is dark. The caudal fin bars are either red-brown or grey.
