Abstract

Carapace subcircular, posterior surface relatively flat, sometimes slightly convex, usually with short setose sterae or tense short setae, lateral margins markedly arched, anterolateral margins with several spines. Front dentate, divided into three lobes by markedly deep notches. Orbits well developed, deep, slightly shorter than front. Pterygostomian ridge serrated with setae. Antennules with deep sockets, obliquely folded longitudinally. Antennae with developed basal segment, distal margin sinuous, flagellum short. Third maxillipeds without distinct rhomboidal gap between, mandibles invisible when maxillipeds closed. Abdomen of males and females with somites 3–5 or 3–6 fused. G1 robust, long, straight, with particular apical process surrounded by setae; G2 shorter than G1. Genital opening of males and females sternal.
