Family Pseudoziidae Alcock, 1898 (Stone Crabs)

Abstract

Carapace transversely oval, much broader than long, dorsal surface moderately convex, regions poorly defined; anterolateral margins with broad lobes or very small denticles; junction between anterolateral and posterolateral margins marked with small denticle. Front broad, broader than orbit, straight, weakly bilobed, gently deflexed. Orbits small, eyestalks short. Antennules folded transversely. Antennae with basal antennal segment extending between inner infraorbital angle and lateral frontal margin. Thoracic sternites 1–2 fused, suture not visible, suture of sternites 2–3 visible, suture of sternites 3–4 medially interrupted. Abdomen of males and females with seven freely moving somites. G1 long, slender; G2 short, 1/3 to 1/4 of G1. Genital opening of males coxal. Genital opening of females sternal.
