Morphology
A climbing shrub. Leaves pubescent, reniform or orbicular cordate, with sharp stipular thorns.Tubers are small sweet, numerous, spiny roots absent. The tubers of the plants are starchy and free from dioscorine. Sweet in flavour, mealiness, closely related to potato.
